Frustrated, sad, concerned and proud are all the feelings that are overwhelming me right now. I have been absent most of this past week because I was spending time with our oldest son. He left this morning for boot camp in the Army. I am having a very difficult time with this considering the status of the US in wars right now. Even though he is only signed up for 3 years active, we know that he will end up longer and it is difficult to wrap my brain around right now. His Dad was in the Navy, a friend was in the Army, a cousin is in the Air Force so we have a good inkling of what he will be going through. We are just praying that should he be stationed over in combat, that he come back to us in good shape in all aspects, physical, mental and emotional. Thank you all for your prayers... we surely need them. Darby
I can understand your concern. You have a awesome son for being so willing to serve his country. I will be praying for him!
My deepest ans most sincere thanks to him and your family for the amazing sacrifice he is making for all of us. We will keep him in our thoughts and prayers.
Yes, thannk him for us! I certainly understand your fears and concerns! As proud of him as I would be, it would be hard to let my "baby" go! We are praying for you, and please let him know we are praying for him!
You have to be so proud of that boy, for serving our country. Give him a great big thanks from us. I am sorry it's hard for you, but I understand where you are coming from. Hang in and come here when the days are hard.
You and your son are in my prayers. You should be very proud of a son who would dedicate his life for his country!
Thank You everyone for your words of encouragement! It has been a rough couple of days but it was wonderful to know all this support is here.... I so appreciate it! I am printing off this thread and will send it to him as soon as he can get mail. He may not know any of you, but your words will mean a lot, he's just that kind of kid I've been spending a lot of my day in the greenhouse and trying to keep myself busy. again, you guys have just been awesome!
Just remember we are here for you anytime. So, proud of that young man, being so brave to service our country. Can't thank him enough.
