That is what I told my son we are doing. We are doing "pretend" school. This is the second grader I am on the fence about bring home with us this fall. I want to get a feel, not only for how it will work for us, but also for Five in a Row, which is what I am leaning toward using for him. So, I have gotten him to go along with doing school this week. We are going to keep it fairly light in the math department, just using the workbook they didn't get to in 1st grade and some living math. I am excited to see how it goes. When he found out I was just planning on doing it from around 9-12 he was much more on board, too. Wish us luck!

    Sounds like fun!

I brought my oldest home after 1st grade. I didn't do any trial runs, just jumped in head first. I think it would have been great to play with the idea a bit, but it turned out for the best anyway.

    Good luck!

We brought ours home after 1st grade and we've asked her if she wants to go back and she always says "NO! NO WAY!!!"

    LOL!
