I have to say A&E. I have been very satisfied with a lot of A&E movies.

    Best Version ever is.....

1940 -with Greer Garson and Sir Laurence Olivier!!!!!

BUT.. if I had to pick from the ones you listed I would pick 1995 A&E with Colin Firth ( I just love watching him ).

You forgot PBS's version they did just this past spring, or is that a rerun of the 1980 BBC's?

The BBC (shown on A&E and PBS in the States) version with Colin Firth is hands down the best. I used to like the Greer Garson version but now the clothing and the ending really bother me. The Kera Knightly version also does not sit well. I do not like the way she played Elizabeth, the whole tone of the movie was way off from what the actual period would have been like.

Oh I can't remember! It was either BBC or A&E. I don't know the actresses name that I just loved.

Colin Firth hands down (although I haven't seen anything older than that). The newer one was OK but just cut too much out (to make it fit into a big-screen movie time slot).

My DD10 loves P & P (the A & E version). I have it on VHS but pondered getting it for her on DVD (for her portable, etc) for Christmas. She LOVES it!

The A&E mini-series with Colin Firth & Jennifer Ehle is my favorite. They all did such a good job portraying the characters.
The movie version with Kiera Knightly isn't horrible, but it is lacking. I don't mind so much, that they cut a lot out. My problem with it is the way some of the characters were portrayed. I don't like Kiera Knightly's portrayal of Elizabeth, Mr. Bingley was portrayed as a total doofus, and Mr. Wickham was too obviously insincere. However, I did really like Judi Dench as Lady Catherine.
    I haven't seen the 1980 BBC version.

Carl read the book this last year, and says that the Colin Firth version is the better portrayal of the book. However, I DO agree that Dame Judi did a fantastic job as a stuffy, old -----!
