We have been baking seeds since yesterday and I was curious if anyone had a good tip or recipe for them??? Just trying to think of something different since we have so many. We've added salt and baked them, a little oil and baked them w/salt too, butter and salt and baked. Any other ideas??
I added some melted butter, cinnamon, all spice, ginger, cloves and a little bit of salt- mix the pumpkin seeds in and bake- it was very yummy!
I baked 2 batches, one with salt and the other one with salt and a few shakes of Frank's Hot sauce.... oh yummm.... I've been eating them for 2 days! I have also seen where you melt a little butter and then sprinkle with taco seasoning.
I don't have any ingenious recipes to give you (sorry!), but I wanted to suggest that you can send some of those tasties this way! lol.
Pumpkin seeds rock! I wonder if you could make some sorta pesto? Or you could top them on salads...... Yummy! Laura
Know what I heard about pumpkin seeds? What is it with you ladies and these food posts lately? Is it a "cuddly" time of year or something? Tiptoe-ing out of the thread, ducking the tomatoes....
hahaha Am I scaring you yet, Pam? So. Where'd you find the quote? Wanna know where I get my "insider information"?? LOL (PM me. :giggle: )
From what I understand, it works especially well with men. I plan on testing the theory soon and promise to make a full report. Okay, well.. .maybe not a FULL report. And, my dh does the baking around here. I do good to burn cookies from premade dough in a bucket. Chicken I can do. Cookies? Pies? No.
Yep. He's a baker by trade, by profession. Has been since he was 15. Works nights, always has since I met him. (This homeschooling "thing" sure makes it easier on our schedule. LOL Not having to worry about getting kids to ps every day! We stay up late and sleep late, on purpose, so that he gets the most and best sleep possible.) But yeah. He bakes. Does pies for holidays. Prefers doing breads and things like that. Not much into cakes and such though.
Did you delete part of your post or something??? How could Pam quote something that I don't see anywhere? Or was that from somewhere else? ANYWAY, I'm going to have to try some of these recipes! YUM! Thanks for sharing them ladies!
LOL I think she googled it and quoted it from some googled source. LOL Nope, I didn't delete anything.
