I was researching the site trying to get a feel for how friendly it was to those of my faith (LDS aka Mormon) and read through some threads. Overall I think the board is great, but there were definitely some things that were misrepresented, only those threads are locked so I cannot put a clarification on them. Anyone know why those threads are locked? Nothing seemed heated on them (offensive yes, heated no). One in particular was a thread which started about Jehovah's Witnesses. Someone summarized the beliefs of my church in a false way, I wanted to clarify so that at least anyone searching will get true information, but I can't do it. It's possible that heated parts were deleted from the thread and then it was closed, but from what is there I can't see why it and other such threads would be locked, and I'm sure you could see how having your church falsely represented and not being able to set it straight would be a bit, well... irritating. This is the main thing that was incorrect, not the only, but the most off base. Christ is my personal Savior. Nothing I do in this life could ever save me from my fallen state without Christ. Lots of people not of our faith tend to focus on this physical sex act thing also. Our leaders have said that Christ was conceived normally... meaning that he was conceived and grew like the rest of us. As far as I know that is all that has been said, but people of other faiths like to make things sound creepy and weird. We do NOT believe that Christ was once sinful and imperfect. I don't know where that would even have come from to be twisted. That's simply blatantly false. It is true that we believe that one's level of salvation can be determined by acts. We believe in seperate glories of salvation, but they are all glories... and that salvation comes only through Christ's atonement. That's a start, hopefully when someone does a search now, they will at least get this and not discount our beliefs solely based on someone's misrepresentation.
