Who uses this? I think it may be Becky.

Do you know of a coupon code or special promotions for this? I'd like to try it but 80 ish dollars right now is a little steep.

Uggg.. you should have bought it earlier in the month... the cost just went up :(

I won't have it after this year, but I love it.. I'm using it to the max so that I have enough to get us through the elementary levels without having to pay the higher price if you catch my drift.

The PS here uses it, and we fell in love with it when DS was in K and 1st.

Sommer, you use RAZ? I didn't know that!

Jackie, I know of no specials they are offering right now. 79.00 might seem expensive, but you get the whole site. You print all the books you want, plus lessons, quizzes and sheets that go with them. There's just so much there to be had. I can also tell you that there is more to the content of these books. I've talked to different moms about what they use, and they all said the RAZ books had more to them, as though they might be advanced, and I'm not sure that's even the word to use. I believe if you subscribe, you'll be very pleased.

Sommer, how do you use RAZ?

I have Jeannie read the book and do the quiz on day one. Day two, I have her do a sheet and reread the book. Day three, she does the next sheet and I do the phonics or whatever that is in the lesson. I have her reread the book one last time the 4th day, and I do whatever else was listed in the lesson.
I've asked the RAZ people if there is any particular way to use the program and they said no. They said there are many ways to use it and no one way is the best. I just want to be sure I use it to it's fullest, you know?

For Garrett we sometimes follow the lesson plans, sometimes we just read.

I'm doing the phonics program with the little ones.. though we are going low and slow.. I'm hording (or trying to) all the books from all the levels (including the lessons and worksheets/quizes) for them as they advance. Garrett reads above thier level Z, but we do still read some of the books, and do the lesson plans and if you are creative you could actually form a complete science elementary science curriculum around their books.. lots of their books are NF science stuff, which I love.

It's not something I can afford to keep long term, so I am taking advantage of it while I can.. I love their lesson plans, very easy to follow and easy on my brain..lol.

Save as many books as you can, Sommer. I did that at the end of my subscription. I just then had to print out all the files I had saved. I wish they'd offer the books already printed, lol. The printing and assembling gets old after awhile. I have a pile yet to do this weekend.

Yep.. I'm saving them to files by letter level, and then will put them on a disk to use for the future... it is a GREAT resource but way out of my budget.

I'm teaching Garrett to make the books.. he doesn't like to take his time and make them look nice.. but it is a help to have him put them together.

Well shoot I didnt know they just recently increased their prices. My plan too would be to save all the files and put on a cd to use.
I told my dh I wanted RAZ for my Christmas present this year. LOL Hopefully he will listen. I REALLY want it now.

I saved a bunch during the teacher week. Now I try to make my own books. Speaking of which I need to make some more.

Becky I don't make mine they way they show...I just have mine cut it down the middle & staple. I figure that way we are working on scissor skills!!! LOL!!!

There is a way to print them where you fold them and the pages line up. There's no cutting and you then just staple them. Dummy here somehow chose the wrong way to print our whole first level for this year, so I'm cutting and asembling.... and stewing!
