Reading Pathways seems to be for developing reading fluency. It also teaches phonics, but it also includes a Vocabulary section.

(I dont own the books, thats just what I read on the website)

I think that Reading Pathways is meant as an (optional) vol. 2 of the series. That they'd build on one another, but I dont know.

Reading Pathways is for improving fluency in reading, and is designed for the child to read the same page each day until he can read the page smoothly and write the words without error. It's a second step after phonics instruction, or for use with special needs children who struggle to read. It's set up in a triangle approach where the top has a word box to help the child form the words, then the bottom is a triangle where the child reads one word, then two words, then three words, then four words, and so on to the bottom where the child reads 8 words.
