Has anyone used reading rescue 1-2-3 before? Is it really as great as people make it sound on amazon? Almost sounds too good to be true.
I used to have this book. I lent it out and didn't get it back. I did read it and actually tried a few things. I did not follow the whole plan because it turned out my son only needed a little help. But it did help me pinpoint areas to help him.
I just read the Amazon reviews...sound certainly very promising, except for one reviewer who said it doesnt focus enough on phonics. I dont have a special reading program for my children, but they read aloud every day, and I find that practice makes perfect. My older one reads the newspaper to me every day. He hated it at first (he's 8), but one days he said "I realized that some of these stories are actually interesting!"
I have my kids read aloud everyday as well. I never thought about having my dd (8) read the news paper. I ordered the book, just to see what it was all about and how it works.
