I know lots of us use Netflix for school, so I was wondring if anyone has tried out the Redbox Instant? http://www.redboxinstant.com/welcome/ Wondering if they have a good selection of educational/documentary things on the streaming?
I saw something about it a couple of weeks ago, and looked up reviews. They weren't too positive. I also got the impression that it's for smart phones and tablets only (as an app). I may have been wrong though.
I just saw something about it yesterday, so I figured it was pretty new, and I haven't noticed a Roku channel for it. I'd be willing to switch from Netflix to something else if it offered more educational stuff.
I haven't even looked at it... I'm always diappointed when we stand for what seems like hours looking at their kiosks, I don't think I would expect anything better from streaming from them. We only use them when we get free codes sent to our phones.
DH and I were just last week talking about missing old-fashioned movie rental places. Though I love the Redbox price, the movies available are so limited. We were talking about wanting to see a movie that was a few years old. It wasn't available at Redbox or on Netflix. Those are our only movie options. We mostly rent with free codes, but occasionally when there is a new release, we'll pay. I got a free code today, but couldn't find anything to rent.
I tried it a couple months ago and it was not good. The movies were very few and the ones they had were not all that great. If they get a better selection like netflix I would be interested, otherwise I wouldn't use them.
