Your child reads 8 books and is eligible for a free book at their store. Here's the link for the forms. Hope this helps someone. http://a1055.g.akamai.net/f/1055/97...ummer_reading_kids/summer_reading_journal.pdf
Missy, This will help so much thanks alot. My dd's were so excited about it. I didn't see a age number on it, do you know if there is one and I am missing it.
I don't know for sure what it is. I think they even have a program for older kids, but I bet your kids are still young enough for this one. You can call your local store for more details about it though.
I just want to remind every also about signing up your kids for the pizzahut bookit program. www.bookitprogram.com at least thats the website I got on one of the kids' cards.
wow, I just checked and the deadline is for the 9th on the bookit program, so I think calling in is advisable.... they are open until 4 pm central time...... just missed it for today. 1-800-426-6548
Hey our Library has a reading program too, it is for adults too this year. Kids, teens and adults all get prizes for reading. The kids of course have little stickers pencils and a blow up thing plus food coupons. the Teens have teen aged coupons and such and books, and I have no idea what us adults get! Check with your library for a Summer Reading program!
I just called the book-it program to register I was told that Homeschoolers are banned from praticipating.. no HSers are enrolled at all. And that licensed Daycares must have a minimum of 4 children enrolled! I'm confused.
lol I called back and whined so they changed their tune and said no one would have told me that.
It was the pizza hut one that gave me that story. but the second person I talked to acted like I was on crack when I said I was refused... This is the link to the target one: http://www.rif.org/readingplanet/user/signup.mspx
Thanks you guys!! I signed my 10 yr old up for the Barnes and Noble and the RIF programs. She isn't homeschooled but I always try to find things for her to do in the summer. She is totally into a cat series called Warriors and this gives an even greater incentive to keep reading. Our library has programs for all ages and 1 lucky teen and 1 lucky adult even get the chance to win an ipod. I love to read anyway!! My hs teen can take advantage of the library but I haven't seen anything else for the older kids. Btw, does anyone know the link for the build a bear program?
Syele, I don't think that is true about Pizza hut and book it. Because I belong to a homeschool group and we got ours today.
