Does anyone have an easy format for writing the basic outline for a report? My dd is having some trouble and she's already tried one way so I need to make sure there's more than one way for her to try so that she's comfortable and can make a good outline to turn in.

I would look on Abcteach and Donnayoung.org, and maybe dltk, to see if they have a Report format form.. I have had a hard time with this sort of thing for evvvvvver so let us know if you find anything!

I will. It eventually came that as she was highlighting information for her report that she became really interested in the French Revolution, so she asked to do a separate report on just that. Which will count for history. I found the following sites the last one I think it's probably the most helpful since it gives a few suggestions.

Instead of the standard format: I. A. 1. 2. B. 1. .2 II. . . etc. . . Try using boxes she can write in in their place. Sometimes a more graphic representation can be helpful.

    Good luck!

I agreww with the graphic outlines being better, it helps to see where things will go together and gather thoughts at the same time, it gives a space to fill.. that is better for my kids than a blank line to fill

The Remedia company has some small workbooks that teach outlining, if that's any help. They have lots of small "individual skill" workbooks. They're originally written for special ed kids, or some are just resources for teachers at all grade levels, but they can be used for kids of all abilities.
