I'm wondering if anyone has used this curriculum, and what their results were? http://www.robinsoncurriculum.com/ Any help would be appreciated. Moesje
Last year, I read like every link on their website and decided not to use it. I loved the emphasis on independant learning, basic skills, essay writing, and literature. I didn't chose it because I didn't agree with the rigidness... NO TV EVER, no Computer until age 16, No Sugar EVER, Almost 0 Parental help/involvement in teaching and the set Curriculum... not allowing for diffrent learning syles and abilities. It's the only curriculum I've seen so far that regulates the childrens diet and extracurricular activies.
I know someone that is using it. She is very academic, a PHD, and she likes it. I was interested in it, but when I looked at the website, there wasn't enough info or demo or samples for me to make a decision about K-12 with that kind of expenditure. I have made a request to him to put more on his website so people can have a more hands-on feel when they go to it. I need to "touch" and examine curriculum even if it is on a website.
thanks for the input. i think we're going to go with saxon math, alpha omega for history, science and english, and then electives that i have from ACE, for starters. we have decided to pull our oldest daughter out of school and work to get her caught up on our own. if we have to deal with the PS next year, we'll either deal with it or continue homeschooling her.
You dont HAVE to follow their curriculum exactly. I think it is the best b/c it teaches students how to learn. I intend to use it.
Hey folks; I would highly recommend you listen to the mp3 file on the Robinson curriculum website where he interviews Gary North. This is an excellent interview and is probably the best intro to the Robinson curriculum. ht p://ww .robinsoncurriculum.com/view/rc/s31p655 .htm
sorry if this response is way overdue. i homeschooled her with alpha omega through the summer, and she then requested to be returned to public school. in returning, the school offers a program for catching up and getting ahead, so she's working on that. thank you for the input, though.
