Hello all my name is Jason Culbertson. My wife Susanna and I have 5 children and at least one more on the way. Their ages are 6, 6, almost 3, almost 2, and almost 1. The youngest is our only boy so far. Our family is from Paola, Kansas and we have been homeschooling for over a year now with our 6 year olds. We hope we can learn many things about homeschooling from everyone here and share any ideas that we might know of as well. We are still fairly new to the idea, though. We are getting ready to start Pre-K with our 3 year old who likes to sit in the schoolroom with the older ones while I am teaching them.

Hi Jason, I hope you like it here. I have learned a lot from the people here and they have helped me get through this first year homeschooling my two youngest daughters. Welcome. Beth in NC.

Welcome! Hope you stick around and join in with questions and discussion! I love this place!

I homeschool my 3: ds15, ds13 and dd9, and we love it! This is our 9th year.

We are Lighthouse Christian Academy (or Homeschool in place of Academy---I recently found out there's a school related to BJU that has this same name. :( )

Welcome, Fellow Kansans! It's a great state to be homeschooling--lots of neat support groups, great sites for field trips, and top-notch state conventions. You're just getting a good start, and our family is already talking about the twins' graduations from high school, which are two years hence; so we're kind of on the opposite ends of these special years. God bless you on your journey!

    Welcome Jason & Susanna,
We have been hs dd11 & ds 10 for about 1 1/2 years. There are not many dads here - do you do most of the teaching? My dh calls himself 'the substitute teacher' - only fills in when absolutely necessary, and no-one really likes it, LOL. It has become something of a running joke around here I'm afraid.
Anyway, it will be good to get a male opinion. Welcome.
    Karen
