i know corn is to be knee high by the forth of july? My grama used to tell us that was as old as the hills, I changed it with her permission mind you to as old as my gramas toes, and she added and twice as corny! lol

I've heard bull-headed, but not knee-high to a boll weevil! It probably depends on where you grew up as to what sayings you heard and used.
