So it sounds like there are "homschool providers" out there that say they are accredited, but aren't really (they are "accredited" by bogus sources). I was going to copy and paste the story, but I don't like to do that, as it could just be hearsay. ?? Anyway, just make sure you trust the companies you purchase from.
One of them was Bridgeway, I believe. I saw the discussion on homeschool.com discussion forum (another homeschool forum, but much slower responses than this one).
Is this Mimi Rothschild again? K12 Free, Southern Baptist Academy and such? I have a post on my blog about her here. I don't know if it's exactly a scam but she and her startups often seem to be the source of a lot of dissatisfaction and even a few lawsuits.
That's what I couldn't figure out (whether or not it was actually a scam or just really bad business). That's why I decided not to post the actual thread from the other site. I take it everyone has heard of it?
So, what exactly, is the scam? I started to research it a little more, but when I clicked on one of the sites, I got a virus warning, so I said "forget it".
