I wanted to let everyone know that scholastic bookfairs has a program where if you volunteer to help out at the warehouse sales (May, December, and in some locations August) you can earn 20.00 in book credit for every hour worked!! I just did 16 hours in two days and earned 320.00 in free books!!!!! This translated into 42 free books for my children to read and learn!

I got some larger books that had games and such with them, or craft books with some supplies, but if I had purchased solely reading books I would have ended up with far more books that I got. I even got a great little lego book with some lego pieces and instructions to make some really cool contraptions!

If you are interested in volunteering at the December sale contact your local scholastic warehouse in November to get the dates of the sale and to coordinate a volunteer time! They can always use volunteers and even if you can only give 4 hours, it helps!

    WOW!

I don't know if they have anything like that around here, but I'm certainly going to find out!

    Thanks for sharing.

You can visit their website www.scholastic.com/bookfairs/warehouse and it will list your local warehouse sales. If you click on contact bookfairs you put in your zip and it gives the office responsible for your area. Call them and ask about the warehouse sale locations and to be connected to the volunteer coordinator. :)

Woot! I'm glad some of "us" will be able to take advantage of this. It's such a great deal.
I look forward to them expanding.

For those of you with no fairs at this time, August fairs do not happen in every state, but the December and May fairs are larger and will have MANY more locations! Only 5 or 6 states have an August fair. Use the contact link to find your local fair office and contact them directly to find out if there are any in your area in May and December.
