Has anyone had trouble with Scholastic and their downloadable e books? I ordered 25 in January. I had them sitting in my downloads section and duly downloaded them a bit at a time. All but two of them were ok. One of the two took 2 attempts to save cleanly, but the other one, refused to download cleanly and work. I contacted them via their form and no response - but I was used to this as I'd contacted them before and had nothing - it was a fluke I checked back and they had rectified their error....so reluctantly based on this past behavior and lack of contact despite being asked, I tried to down load the item again on my last of 3 attempts they give you. It failed again. Now I had 0 tries left. I have now sent a number of emails citing that I believe this is very poor customer service, and that I am far from happy, they have taken money without delivering goods, it is their responsibility to ensure delivery as they choose the method (pdf) so it should be fit for purpose and their responsibility to maintain any links....but this all seems to be falling on deaf ears.... All I seem to keep getting is the well we sent you an email with the link in, have you tried putting it on your desktop so you can access it when you need to.... Do they think I am totally thick - why was I ok with the other 24 books - so clearly I know what I am doing ... Can anyone offer any advice as Scholastic UK claim the portion of the company which I ordered these books from (Teacher Express) is part of the parent company (er hello - "parent" should have given her a clue - but didn't) and she said they can't do anything to help????? It wasn't a lot of money but that is so not the point -- want the book for my children's education.... What do I do now? Help......   Part of my issue is that the company is based in the US and I am in the UK - so with time differences and cost (a phone call to sort this mess out would cost more than the book) is not helping.
So sorry! I have ordered a few things from them without issue, but it sounds like if you do have an issue they aren't too concerned about it.
I've never done the downloadable books, have had good success with them, and they have a 1-800 number (perhaps it doesn't work in the UK?
