He's always wants to do "school", I'm assuming it's because he sees his big brothers & sister doing school. He already listens in on read alouds, watches any experiments (we do a lot of experiment kits), try's to do our state study with us, watches educational shows, I do quite a few crafts with him. But he wants to do more? I considered getting him HOD Little hands to heaven he places in it, but I've never used something formal with my kids this young.

    Thoughts?

I do not know if he wants to do "school" as much as he wants to be like the big kiddos. There are thousands of free printables on the internet. Perhaps you can print up colorpages and have him color the state you are studying or a colorpage of the state bird so he feels involved and is learning. When learning about geography, let him play with the globe and show him where the state or country is located. I personally wouldn't attempt to work on anything formal at this young age. You do not want to quench his desire to learn. Follow his lead. Use what is already interesting him and work with it. He is interested in working with his siblings. Give him something simple that relates to what they are working on.

I have a 2 1/2 year old, he "wants to do school" with us. Really he just likes doing whatever anyone else is doing and there is no telling him he is too young. He is a big boy, and that is that..lol

What I do is keep some coloring books and extra printouts of whatever the other kids are doing handy as well as his own box with his crayons, pencils, and sometimes there may be stickers or glue and scissors in there for him. I include him when I can, today we painted warm and cool colored hand wreaths (I painted their hands, they put them on a poster in the shape of 2 circles, 1 of warm colors, 1 cool) and he joined in with us. He does have his own workbook.. On the Road Through Preschool. I do not let him write in it, we will randomly open it and look at things and talk about things if he is interested and the other kids are busy doing their worksheet type work. He loves it and is learning tons... if he wonders off to play I'm ok with that too, and have started keeping the TV in my bedroom on on NickJr or the like so he can go play on my bed and watch some tv if he wants. He is by no means required to do school.

I used to be a 2.5 yr old preschool teacher, if he wants to do school too, give him paper and crayons, playdoh time, call it school time. It will be easy for him for starters and you can see if he wants to do real school or not.
If he wants more do some A b C around the world with him. YOu make a picture a week focus on a letter a week and find things that start with that letter liek APPLE, Aligator, print pictures forhim to color, glue stuff onto the letters if he is up to that level, but allow him to decide if he wants to do school or not. Just put together a little box of stuff for his school box and let him get it when he wants to do school , and call his play time recess let it last forever if he wants, just give it a name it will suffice if he only wants to be like the big kids kwim?
