How old are your kids, first off? I have a few storage bins that I use frequently. The clear plastic tubs work really well for storing crafts, toys, and equipment. My kids mostly use the kitchen table. We don't have too much room in the house to have a special area for schooling (such as desks, and so on). Comfort is key in my opinion, you know?

    Here's ours http://gapeachhomeschool.wordpress.com/2010/04/25/classroom-cleaned/

I think a lot depends on your kid(s') age(s) and your homeschool style.

Ours will be mainly for storage LOL and a place to do our crafts, where it's okay to get paint or glue on the table (which I don't want on my kitchen or dining room tables!)

My oldest son might need to do some seat work in there some days, so he can get away from his 3 year old brother.

Like the other day I had him take an online placement test and his little brother was outside when he started, so I just left the laptop on the dining room table, but once his little brother came in (and wouldn't be quite) we had to move to the classroom, cause he had to hear the questions to be able to answer them...

But other than that, we don't plan to use it much. We'll do read alouds elsewhere. We'll do lots outdoors, snuggled up on the couch or int he bed, ect. But we're taking a pretty relaxed approach this year, since my kids are so young.

If they were older, it might be more needed for independent (quite) study time. But right now, I don't see us using it much.

    Good luck!

We do not have a classroom. However I keep all our supplies and books in an armoire that sits in our living room. It is large enough to hold everything plus most of my craft supplies. A whiteboard hangs in the kitchen for instruction time.

We also don't have one. We learn all over the house! But most school books are kept on shelves in the Living Room! Oh, and I have a book basket next to the chair I usually sit in when I read, which is where I keep history books I read aloud from, or any other books we're reading. Also, any library books that are just sitting around usually end up in there!

    Hi Allie:
Here is how our school room is set up:

As you'll see, I just change things around depending on our needs.
We have an art bin, several bookshelves, school desks, white boards, computer, and piano in our school room.

    Good luck to you.

Here's our room, it's a spare bedroom in our house.

This was before we started school, it looks a lot different now as I have stuff EVERYWHERE!!!

I gather all work for the day from workbooks and put them in clipboards and the kids just sort of roam around the house with the clipboards. read alouds are in baskets in the living room, shelves in the dining room, and on my nightstand. art supplies are in bins in the dining room. so our classroom is all over the house.

That's one of the few things I have left to buy, I want to kids to each have one of those clipboards that has the "box" under it, so they can take a few crayons or something and we can have school outside!

We use workboxes that are compact and have all the kids items so my older two can school anywhere, outside, in their beds, at a family member's house. One time they did school in my master bathroom in their beanbag chairs while I was in the bath tub LOL.

Great rooms, I love to see everyone else's rooms around this time of year, to get me motivated for cleaning over the summer.

Well ours is still pretty much unused. LOL The 3 year old goes in there to color and that's about it for now. ;) We did put up a few more decorations since those photos were taken. But only one more week of public school! So we should begin using it soon.

We did start on a lapbook on rabbits the other night, as one of our rabbits just had babies, so I thought 'hey, why not?' and that's still laid out all over the table LOL

I still want to buy a flag, cause I'd like them to learn the pledge of allegiance (which they don't do at my son's school)
