My to-be-10 yr old dd wants a Science birthday party. We are looking for ideas for a cake. I always go all out for the cake. We found the Erupting Volcano Cake and it looks interesting, but I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas. Thanks, Sabrina
Look at the library for a book called ToyLab by Michael Elshon Ross. They will make Silly putty and do experiments, use water balloons and water guns to do experiments. They'll even see if a spinning top can go through a maze.
Sabrina: Try these websites for ideas. I've used the ideas from here for the past two years for my kids' birthday parties. I love them! http://www.boardmanweb.com/party/mad_scientist.html http://www.boardmanweb.com/party/archaeology.htm http://www.boardmanweb.com/party/buggy.htm http://www.boardmanweb.com/party/jumanji.htm Good luck! What a cool idea! Outter space type cakes here http://www.coolest-birthday-cakes.com/cake-decorating-idea.html A volcano cake is also on that site. Science parties http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/html/science.html more science parties http://www.childrenparty.com/partythemes/scienceparty.html
It would almost be neat if you could find soemthing that went along with something you have or will teach in science this year. Andrew (who is already 10 years old) learned about the solar system this year and living things. Some of the ice cream stores around here sell "worms in the dirt" ice cream (vanilla ice cream with oreo cookies crushed into it, and long candy gummy worms). It's a real hit -although the thoughts of it turns my stomach. Space ship birthday cakes, something to do with nature - you could go a long ways with this one... I put science birthday parties in yahoo as a search and one site that it gave was http://www.newcanaannature.org/birthday_parties.htm Looks like soem neat stuff there for children ages 3-12 Brenda
great idea Wow what a great idea!!!! You are going to have so much fun. Can we all come to the party? Your child would get loads of gifts.. Lorna and excited kids LOL
