Ok, I nearly put this in the Christian section, but it's not actually about Christianity. This is about schools and what they teach. And yes, he's talking about Intellegent Design and Evolution, but his point is not a 'which is true' point. In fact, he blasts both. His point is a 'is any of it science' point.

PLEASE... I'm begging you! I'm NOT posting this as yet another tireing debate between the theories. I'm not posting this to start up an heated discussion about anything at all.

Again, the point of this video is not which is true!!!!!!!! So let's not make that the point of this thread.

I didn't watch the video, but I have often wondered why bother teaching it one way or the other. There are so many other things to learn about.

I like the way he was able to present his view in such a friendly,non-confrontational manner. I don't necessarily agree with everything he said, but I was able to see his point because he was well informed and matter-of-fact.

I watched the video now, I can honestly say that I don't agree with everything. But, he is right--how can we teach it as a science without passing the rigors of the scientific method.

I really think that most "scientific" jobs could be done without this whole debate. Think about it--doctors need to know how the body works, not how it came about.

    Loved it!

I do agree, science is a religion for some people, but I hate the assumption if you are a scientist you can't be a Christian or vice versa. I have yet to see any reliable scientific evidence that goes against my religious beliefs.

For science to be proven, it has to be reproducible. Evolution is not science any more than creationism is, they are both just beliefs, not science. I don't see why they can't just teach both as theory or belief systems in public schools...

reliable scientific evidence--- I guess that is the million dollar question. Is reliable scientific evidence, an opinion? What evidence is for one person, may not be evidence to another. And of course many 'scientists' cannot be trusted as their findings are skewed by their own opinions, or where their funding comes from...

I think that let's say someone finds a never-before-seen fossil. It can be weighed, measured, examined with an electron microscope if you wish. It can be compared with known specimens, and with creatures alive today. That's science. But whether it represents a whole different species "closely related" to a known one, or a "predecessor to" a known one, or is simply ONE individual known creature with some species-variation evident, or a "link" between two known species, or what exactly it is, that would be opinion. And opinion is based on what one expects to find, one's background, one's basic assumptions about how it got there, etc. Which is to say, a creationist will see the wonder of God's creativity, and an evolutionist will see... well, they vary among themselves what they see anyway.

Very interesting. While I do not agree...I get the point. Thanks for sharing. It's always nice to hear different perspectives.
