Scripps spelling bee

I'm watching the Scripps spelling finals. Of the final 15, 4 are homeschooled. My dh, 3dd's and I are sitting here "trying" to compete with these kids. They are really incredible.

 

Down to 3--the last hs'er was just knocked out.

Our family just had a very fun evening and my girls now see the value in knowing Latin and Greek roots(I think).

Now I am confused. I thought a homeschooler won?

I mis-read that on his bio page on Scripps. It listed his school name at the top as Venture School while the other homeschooled kids were just listed as "homeschooled". I didn't read further down into the bio. Sorry for the goof. So cool then, a hs'er did win!! YAY!!

 

So I wonder if he's homeschooled, or attends a Virtual School. The media wouldn't make that distinction. Not that it really matters. He did a great job regardless!

 

This is his bio. It doesn't say anything specific on the type of hs'ing. That is an amazing boy.

My husband and I were rooting them all on. Those kids are truly amazing. So cool a hs'er won the spelling bee and the geographic bee held recently.

Go homeschoolers!!!!!!!!
