I just had to share what I found this weekend. Has anyone seen these? Edu science from toys r us they are kits and it looks like they have a handful of different topics. The one I got is Lights,Colors & Optics Kit since we started the chapter in science on light today. It includes a book with 17 projects, all the material you need to complete the projects, except for simple things ex. pencil for making the sun dial. Some off the projects are make a kaleidoscope, create a telescope, bending light. It covers light, shadows, reflection, the speed of light, refraction, the sun, spectrum of light, and some optical illusions. And the best part I only paid 11.99 for the whole kit. My dd had a blast in science today and said she cannot wait for tomorrow! woot.
I looked at amazon and found one for 7.49 in the search put project kits for kids light color and optics. they have other kits by same company with different themes but I can't remember what they are now I was excited about the one I found lol.
Do you know what the age level is on that? It sounds really fun....perfect for getting us out of our rut we're are in! Thanks for sharing it with us.
oh I have seen them at Target too they are around 11.00 per kit. U can make crystal and other things. Rock cleaning one. Rock digging, and sea monkey kits things like that. My girls love doing these. I will have to go to Amazon to look it over if it's cheap will get them there.
I have a great science book I got last month for $5.99 that you do things with stuff around the house, would love to share if any one is interested: the one I remember off my head is, get 2 glasses and 2 eggs, put one egg in each glass, and cover at least an inch by 1) water 2) vinegar, let set a few hours how do they feel different? Let set for a day now how are they different? (vinager one will be slippery because the vinager "eats" away the calcium in the shell. and its supposed to be able to bounce, drop slightly in a bowl and see if it does...... havn't done this one yet.
Yea, Amy sounds wonderful where did you get? My girls would love doing some of them. The more experiments we do the happier they are.
It's really great when we find something our kids enjoy and look forward to. It sounds like you found a very good resource. I should take a look at it. What age range is it geared for ? Sherry
We did that egg experiment a couple of years ago. It worked! The egg is really strange! I think you'll have fun trying it!
