    VERY WELL DONE, FAIRFARMHAND!!!

Lol, I had a special needs student, about nine years old. He came into class one morning, his chin all cut up. I asked what happened. "Well, you see, it was my big sister's fault. She left her razor lying around. I'll never try THAT again!!!" A half-hour later, the (male) gym teacher came to get my kids, took a look at him and said, "Danny, what happened to you? Cut yourself shaving?" He was joking when he said it, but I about lost it!!!

An added note on shaving....make sure that your dd is old enough to understand the risks of using someone else's razor. If they are too young to respect the dangers, both physical (great point fairfarmhand!) and biological, then I would not allow it yet.

Agree. Would add that a grown friend gave herself bacterial meningitis (sp?) with her razor because apparently there was rust on it that she hadn't noticed. Was a wake-up call to me- since mine stays in the shower.

Ems started shaving possibly early last year? I can't remember. She is a hairy girl and didn't feel comfortable wearing shorts or skirts. I was reading something from Focus On The Family. Dobson was at a restaurant and a mom recognized him. So she asked what he thought about her young daughter shaving her legs. He told the mom that she needs to pick and choose her battles wisely. To him, shaving was not one of them. If the daughter felt uncomfortable with hairy legs, let her shave. Since Ems wasn't shaving to impress anybody else, I let her shave. I thought he had a good point.

my DD is 11 and hasn't mentioned wanting to shave and we been living at the pool daily. I personally haven't been shaving much since my husband is deployed this summer. There been a few times we went to the pool and noticed I could have shaved my pits or legs before comming. We have seen a few of the lifeguards in the showers (they are open) shaving their legs. Still my DD hasn't open up to me about it. Now my DD6 is ready to shave and do all big girl things:? I am not ready for that child to hit that tween to teen age.
