I just got the Sing Spell Read Write program for my kindie. It didn't come with a manual, and I'm wondering if I need it. This is what I got in the kit: 2 workbooks: All Aboard and On Track 6 readers (Dad, Sam and Pat; Ed the Pal; etc) 1 songs cd 4 round boxes with little cards and cutout letters/words/sound groups cards...sight words, letter cluster sounds, etc I'm not sure how to approach this. I tried googling it, and I found some YouTube vids where the author (I presume) praises the program but nothing about how exactly to use it. I'm sure its not rocket science, but considering all the praise for the wonderful "method" it uses, I don't want to miss out
My kid are enrolled in the Options program here in CO. This gives us access to free curriculum. They have a free book fair once a year, and you can order from their catalog...you only pay if there are any consumables.
I would think a manual would be absolutely required, just to know what to do with the stuff. Pearson website doesn't have a kindy instruction manual for sale separately, it's only in the kit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DY9ksFC5nzA This is a youtube video of the K program being used in a public school kindy. Maybe if you contact Pearson (the publisher): http://www.pearsonhomeschool.com/index.cfm?locator=PS14Ct
Maybe you could find a TM for sale here http://www.homeschoolclassifieds.com/show_search.asp?searchWords=sing+spell+read+and+write
I used it several years ago and I'm pretty sure the TE came in the kit. I would call them and see. It's probably a mistake that you didn't get it. It's important to have since it lets you know when to use the songs, how to introduce them, play the games, and how to explain things.
Follow the little maps. The map tells you what to do with each lesson. And they are color coded, so if the space on the map is yellow, you do all yellow worksheets/books,etcs. then you move to the next space on the map, and do all the ones with that. if that makes any sense, lol.
