I just had to do a mommy brag on myself and my DD. I was just on the phone with my sister. Her DS is only a couple months older then my DD. Together, we both decided that neither of our kids really needed to do K last year. This year, she sent her son to PS and I started to officially homeschool my DD at home. Her son started mid August. We started second week of September.

My DD was reading today while I was on the phone with my sister. Needless to say, her son isn't even close to reading yet. Of course, it wasn't like my DD was reading a novel or something. It was one of those repetitive emergent readers, but still... YAY for homeschooling and one on one education!!!

It's great when they start to read on their own. I have one down, two to go.
