I just had to do a mommy brag on myself and my DD. I was just on the phone with my sister. Her DS is only a couple months older then my DD. Together, we both decided that neither of our kids really needed to do K last year. This year, she sent her son to PS and I started to officially homeschool my DD at home. Her son started mid August. We started second week of September. My DD was reading today while I was on the phone with my sister. Needless to say, her son isn't even close to reading yet. Of course, it wasn't like my DD was reading a novel or something. It was one of those repetitive emergent readers, but still... YAY for homeschooling and one on one education!!!
