We got snow! and a lot of it. We are measuring 30" already in my town and it's not finished. I love it! I do wish DH would come inside though. He has a bad heart and he's been shoveling for over an hour. I sent the boys out to help but they didn’t last long. Men are hard headed. Anyone else get snow? How much!
We have 30"+ - I walked to the barn today and in some places it was up to my waist. It's still snowing and they are expecting 6-8" more before it's done. That was at 6am this morning.... More pictures are here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2053766&id=1424257757&l=5f12eaef92
It’s still going here too. Did you see the lightning? We had storms last night. Now DS wants to know exactly how this can happen. He is asking me how much energy the storm has if it can produce thunder and lightning. Homeschoolers...LESSON! DH finally came inside the house ( and tracked snow all over my floor!). He was winded and sweating . I bet he’ll listen to me the next time.
We didn't see lightning.... but DH is still out - I don't think he can get to the chicken coop though - at least I haven't seen him make it that far. Luckily he's got a tractor do to a lot of the plowing....
Well, for once we aren't the ones being hit hard... we got 6 inches. Now, we are in an area where they were calling for 2-4 MAX, soooo once we leave the mountain, there is porbably about 3ish in town. Being up so high, we usually get about double what they get for some strange reason. Hope you all are staying warm and safe... and playing like school kids in all that snow!!!
We got a lot for us- around 12 inches. We just got done shoveling and later today we are going to take the girls sledding!
We expect to be stuck at home for a few days - heck - they think we are getting MORE snow Tuesday.... I'd love it if we COULD sled - but we can't even walk.
Oh, that's right. I forgot about the Tuesday snow. You are close to me Dana. We are in Baltimore County ( the nice part). I need to get to the store once they plow. I tried to go on Thursday and the place was ransacked. Luckily we have a freezer with back up for meat, but we are running low on milk and bread. My store didn’t have anything left and I mean nothing.
Oh gosh, I dont' envy you guys at all... although we never feel trapped at home (we have 2 wheel drives.. we NEED them on the mountain in the winter), I hate hitting the store and everyone has paniced and took all the bread and milk. Hubby just couldn't control himself, he and ODS took off in the jeep to go play  They better bring me home the dunkin donuts they promised.. and my coffee better not be spilled (hubby LOVES to play on our road... driving up and down it sideways in the snow..boys.. I tell ya
I don't know what we got...a lot. It's still snowing! Dh is out shoveling a path to the chickens. Ds is headed out right now with hopes of building lots of snowmen. Yeah, good luck with that! It is absolutely beautiful out there!
Love the pictures Dana! I sooooo miss the snow, though I don't miss the hazardous driving. I even miss shoveling the fluffy white stuff...can I come shovel your farm? LOL.
We have about 18" so far and it's supposed to keep snowing until about 5 or 6 p.m. We could get about 2 feet by the time it's done. We live on a major road, and they've barely plowed. I've seen the occasional crazy person drive by. LOL Looks pretty out the windows, that's for sure. My kids don't have adequate snow gear (my youngest is the only one with a snowsuit AND boots, the others have snow suit & no boots, or my son has nothing! LOL ) Poor kids. Hubby's waiting until it stops before he tries to do anything. Thankfully, he invested in a snow blower last spring....it's been used a lot already this year!!! Good investment, for sure. Stay warm folks!
Well I have gotten my work out today that's for sure!! I had to walk up to the chicken coop before DH got a chance to plow (it took over 2 hours to get to the ducks who are really close to the house).....because a turkey was stuck in the snow. The snow is about waist high walking up there and it wore me out!!! Forget a treadmill - God gave us SNOW!! I went to the store Wednesday night and got an extra 2 gallons of milk - but there was no bread. Thursday we all headed over to Walmart and we got a loaf there and I can always make bread. I have no idea when we will be able to get out....I think Tuesday we MIGHT make it out - but I doubt my girls will have PS Monday and maybe not Tuesday. I'd have you all over in a heart beat to help shovel - expect you really can't shovel this!!
I don't know the official amount, but Claire's belly is 12" from the ground, and she's just clearing it. She has to jump her way through it! But it stopped her a lot earlier than expected. We were suppose to have it steady all night, and today until around 6. Last night when we went to bed, it looked like it had stopped. Same this morning, but a fine snow did start falling about mid-morning. That didn't last long, though. I just came home from a Memorial Service, and you could actually see blue sky in the north.
Dana, love the pictures, darn it we got nothing. Want to share some with us. It was 68 out here today
