Yes, that's the same book, and no you WON'T have to buy another spelling book! And no, I DON'T want to sell my copy, lol!

Thanks for the tip on Spelling Power - is it really that good? Unfortunately no library database I tried shows anyone in my area having it. I may have to order one. I can't stand Ebay so don't worry I will not get into a bidding war with you guys. If I have to I'll just get it from Amazon.

I am not one for bidding wars....ok...I am for any competative thing...but bidding is not what I enjoy....ok...if I win I do....but...nevermind. Try looking it up at half.com---ebay site but the books are cheap and I don't think they are up for bids. There is also a site....UGH---I will find it that you can type in what you want (books) and it will give you the prices and where it is being sold. I'll look and get. I think you can get pretty good prices on Amazon.

Homeschool classifieds have it, but the price isn't a particularly good deal.

Ava Rose, I'm with you when it comes to bidding! I'd rather just be told the price and be done with it!

I really like the buy it now prices. I will pay a bit more just to know I have it. Bidding is only fun when you get a deal. I really want that spelling book now. I had forgotten about that until now. I have a Bob Jones spelling book for my dd and aBeka for my ds. My ds has abeka because it used to be my dd's. I am not real happy with Bob Jones. I don't know what I was expecting but I am not into it. I do like that it is Christian based. But other than that---it seems to be lacking a bit. Maybe I am just not used to it.

Ava Rose, Abeka has the cool spelling and vocabulary books right? What does Bob Jones have?
I would love to have Abeka books, they impress me, but at this point thats not gonna happen.
    But oh well maybe tomorrow!

I think abeka does a great job with spelling and phonics. I never did get a vocab book from abeka, I have one but from somewhere else--don't remember got it online also. I do not like ABeka's math or science, however. I bought the Bob Jones spelling book online. There is no vocab in it just spelling lists with a few exercises. It's seems to be just as good as Abeka but not as pretty. It also has more spelling words a week. That is niether good or bad IMO.

If you do a search online for spelling lists with the grade you are looking for you will find several lists. That is what I did before I got the book. The spelling lists online and that of the workbooks are pretty much the same. Try that! Then just have your kids write the words and play spelling games. I honestly, would have doe that instead of buying a spelling book but it came with the english book I got online.

Christian Liberty Press has good Spelling books. They're not colorful, but they teach well. We used those for awhile and liked them!

the author is Beverly L. Adams-Gordon. ALSO! The copy I got I discovered is missing two pages that were important. Someone had torn them out :( . So I got a copy from the library and plan on copying the missing pages and "adding" them. Well, the copy from the library is the 3rd Edition. It includes a "Quick-Start Introduction" that my copy didn't have. It ALSO had a CD-Rom included. What exactly is on that, I don't know because I haven't checked it out yet. So it MIGHT be worth your while to be sure you get those things. I CAN tell you that the introduction is VERY helpful. The book is pretty thick and there's SO MUCH to it, it's hard to get an understanding of how the overall program works. The introduction really does explain the gist of it to where you can get started right away.

I am using the writing prompts from Sami's Bible. (Little Let's Live it sections) (Did I say that already?) It reccommends for ages 8-10 so I have to make them easier for Sami.

Oh, Sylele!!! How silly of me! You've got to check out www.gardenof praise.com !!! It has some spelling based on Bible stories that I think you and Sami would love! You'll really love this site; I forgot all about it until just now!!!
