I got about 18 little Phonics readers at the resell shop the other day, 6 Dora Phonics books and 12 Spongebob, the sells lady offered them to me for just 2.50 and that was a good deal since they should've been over 6 bucks...

Anyway, Spongebob isn't really well received by my students, but I got them because I know that he's a fairly popular cartoon character and I thought that someone here might like them.

    Each booklet covers a different sound: short a, short e, short i, short o, short u, silent e, plurals, sh/ch/wh/th, long a, long e, long i.

I have 11 of the Spongebob books... (I thought there were 12...I might have dropped one somewhere, if I did, its another long vowel sound.) There are some Dora books also, only like 6 of them, if anyone would like them please PM me. I'm just going to re-donate them in 21 days if no one wants them.

These aren't a first reader book as in something that a child with little or no phonics could read. More of a supplement/treat for a child who can read with some help.

For example, one of the pages from book 1 reads:
Patrick kept messing up the orders. "That was jellyfish jelly on the clams, not kelp jam" said Squidward.

But each book includes a list of words at the beginning that use whatever sound the books is about.

These could make good read aloud books, for example, ask your student to listen for the word with the short a sound as you read to them.

    Please, PM me if interested.
