http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051115/ap_on_go_ot/postal_rates Maybe I am behind with the news, but did you all see that stamp prices are going up after the holidays??
Wasn't there also a story that the postal service did well this year so far? Maybe it was for last year, but I know the story was about how well they did. So, why the increase??
Why do they need a reserve if they're making money, and don't even know what they're going to do with the reserve?! (btw, no, I hadn't heard. I haven't watched tv for too long!)
Yes I heard about it and the service is getting worst too. I sent my family cards and one will get them in 3 to 4 days and the others it takes a month. Same town and sent them all together. I wouldn't mind paying for something if you got better service if you all know what I mean.
I think that if they are charging 42 cents per stamp then they should start delivering on Sundays! Since we are doing my Mom's E-bay we are trying to utilize the flat rate shipping boxes and envelopes as much as possible, however, I wonder if those boxes are going up too? I hope not we just ordered 50 of one kind and 100 of another kind. My husband went ahead and ordered me 100 stamps , (a recent heated discussion subject ) but then I asked him did you know that in January they are going to raise the price of stamps?? (he was trying to be nice and appologize in his own way about fussing over stamps, then I deflated his bubble )
ABall, usually you can just buy additional stamps to add to the ones you already have. I think the last time they went up, you bought a "D" stamp (or something like that!) that didn't have a specific amount printed on them. They set the price for whatever the difference in rate was, and used with the "old" stamp is was the correct amount. So the ones he just bought would not be wasted.
I haven't heard of this yet but it seems to me that the gas prices might have something to do with the increase.
