FYI, there's considerable debate about Betsy Ross and the first flag. Many historians regard it as a legend that likely is not based on fact. Just thought I'd mention it

Missy, I got Jeannie's social studies from the GPS website again this year, and she's going to do a really neat unit on the colonials and Native Americans.

Later, she'll have these two huge units on Japan and Australia.
