I wanted to let you and everyone else know that Subway has revamped their /Every Sandwich Tells a Story /contest, reintroducing it as a Summer Special, running through August 31. They even took out a banner ad with /Homeschooling Today /magazine.

For all those who clamored about Subway excluding homeschoolers, now's the time to show them that we will indeed participate when they include us.

The registration form I saw asks for the Child's School Name, so homeschoolers should make sure they enter something like /Smith Family Homeschool/, rather than /Smith Academy/ to drive home who you are.

The link to the contest is available on www.homeschooltoday .com
    <http://www.homeschooltoday.com/>.

Off to grab a bag of popcorn....

    I tried out the link.
It appeared to simply take me to the homeschoolingtoday page...

Then I realized it was the banner ad...
I clicked that and was sent to a page on subway that hyped a bunch of disney trading cards....
Then I looked UNDER that and there was a SMALL button for Entering your kid into the contest... sigh...
I clicked that And was asked for my birthdate. I did that.

This took me to THIS page...
    http://www.subwayfreshbuzz.com/kids/contest.aspx

Seems t be the exact same thing...
You still can get $5000.00 worth of athletic equipment...

Glad they changed their policy. I imagined they didnt want to have to deal with the PR again because when homeschooler roar....:)

My husband and me had disagreed with the whole thing. He just shrugged it off Saying they had a right not to include us...I told him yah they do have that right but it dosent help their business any when they don't include us

    thanks for the link Jen

    :)

The founder of our local hs group is also a Subway franchisee. She sent an excellent, well-written letter to her "bosses" explaining how her boys, while working in the shop, are great examples of homeschooled kids, being courteous and hard-working. Everyone in the small town where they own their shop know they homeschool and think it's great. I'd love to know what her reply from the "higher ups" are, if any!

So is anyone going to sign up?
Just curious because I never planned to, but I am worried that after all the hubbub that when they change their policy and then have no one show up.... might make them think that we are all bark and no bite kind of thing.
    Curious how it plays out.
