We are thinking we'll get an actual textbook for middle school physical science and carry it around with us. Any suggestions? We don't really want a workbook type thing since both boys will be using it, but a regular textbook like they use in schools. Thanks!
We have the Prentice Hall Science Explorer set. Now.. that is like 15 books that cover a 3 year span in schools. Maybe you could just get/carry with you the one you want to learn from at that time?
I'm very partial to Apologia. But I'm not sure it would be good for traveling. I think it would be hard to do without doing the experiments.
okay we are doing middle school and are doing the up to 12 yr old series Astronomy . He just made the age break but we are finding it interesting and very exciting. I also know ( Im such a fan lol) Simplezines has science stuff- we checked out the Earthquake stuff to go with our sceince last year then this year we are doing some astronomy, then forensics sample if we like it we are considering ordering that, there are biology and thatkind of things there too I ahve not checked them out. the one mentioned gencoe or whatever it was is good too they have an online thing on thier site too. Sorry I dont have a link but if you google glencoe science grade (whatever)
http://www.middleschoolscience.com/ found this site, its got links to other sites. We are also usng SOS science7 which is lifescience or earthscience I forget which one , lol, but its on the computer.. if your kids do computer program school you could try those,
We're using Apologia General Science and although the experiment so far are neat, you could learn without doing them because it explains what should have happened later in the chapter plus some of them are on the multi-media companion CD. They also have Physical Science but I don't know if those experiments are the same (and we're only in the 2nd module so my opinion might change...lol). We really do like Apologia though! Rhonda
