Is anyone doing anything 'schoolish' over the Summer? ;) We thought about going year-around since my daughter loves the structure of things, but for now we are just sneaking in ways to work on handwriting and reading. She has PenPals that she writes to, as well as her journal and prayer journal. Our library has some fantastic weekly reading programs, one where she will be reading to a dog that is trained for elderly visits. We are making paper links with the book's title for every book she reads, which she thinks is a lot of fun. Any ideas for more handwriting practice without her knowing it's handwriting practice?

    sounds good

we are doing some "school" things over the summer b/c its fun to my 1st grade DD. we are going camping and taking field guides and doing nature crafts. Also she is working on her 1st grade Math (she just finished K) b/c she wants to do 2nd grade math next year. I told her if she finished her 1st grade Workbook with no problems I would get her the 2nd grade on for the school year.
I have no handwriting ideas for you, but I promised some of the other Moms will! sounds like you are doing a great job!!!
