Ok I don't want learning to stop just because it's summer, but I'm also no where ready to jump into next year's work. I have no clue what I want for a few subjects so and can't afford what I want for others. So I'm going to wait until fall to start school school. I had a bright idea that we could do summer camp at home, we school at home so why not camp. And I'm actually pretty excited about it. I wasn't excited trying to plan school for the year because I didn't like what I was planning.

I'm thinking I could do weekly or biweekly themes that not only my 7 yr old could do but also my 2 yr old niece. And have everything we do center around those themes.

So that's my plan, I don't know how I'm going to do things just yet but I'm welcome to any suggestions.

Great Idea...we have some friends who have Cousin Camp -The moms switch off and run a camp at their respective homes. I would do funs stuff like nature study, cooking and crafts. Charlotte Mason type activities. Please post about what you end up doing :)

    That sounds like fun!!

Lots of nature inspired crafts (think things make with twigs and leaves, "fairy houses", etc), "swimming days" when they get to play in the pool, "beach days" trips to a nearby creek or stream.. not so great with the 2 year old, but at 7 looking for crawfish would be fun.

Awesome idea! I guess with all my kids and how busy I am, my brain sometimes gets fried and I never thought of this! I think I might try something like this as well. I am sure my kids would enjoy it.

Good idea - I use schoolexpress.com for little "subjects for the week" and I can build off it when I can and when they want to.
