We're switching up our history next year. My younger two are going to do PA History b/c they sort of have to (not really HAVE to, but need it at least once in Elementary and once in Middle/Jr. High). I have the Elementary one from using with my other two, just need to get two literature books I don't have. Also, I have almost everything I need from the Middle School one, except for two books that should be fairly easy to get. So they're done for History!!!

So for my oldest, I decided to go with Notgrass American History. And to do a good part of the Literature component. It's $90 for the Books, $80 for the lit component. Got it at a used book sale a couple weeks ago. Got the Three Student Books, and The quiz book for $50. THEN, this same lady had most of the literature for $12. AND the ones that she didn't have, either I already had them on my shelf or I was able to get them from Paperback Swap. I have her full History & Literature for next year! I'm so psyched!!! And…it's reusable, so I can use with my son the following year!!!

Now….to decide if she's actually going to do all the literature (holy moly!). I think I might pull some of them and make them her "summer reading" so that she DOES read them, but doesn't analyze them.

I also have her enrolled in a class next year that will be doing a full scale study of "1984" and "Brave New World" and another book called "Amusing Ourselves to Death". And an IEW Elegant Essay class. LOL!!! Maybe she'll get two full credits for English next year! HA HA HAH A!!!!!

Anyway….I'm so excited. Now….just to finish out this year!!! buwaaaahaaahaaaaaa!

Wow, good for you! So she will be in 9th grade? Call it "Honors English" on her transcript!! Or, count the IEW as a full credit elective!

Actually, she'll be in 10th next year. Our evaluator said what we've been doing this year will count as her World History credit, so she doesn't need to do the World History. In 11th, she'll do their Government which is only a half cr. but she's doing an Entrepreneur/Economics class this year, which will give her the half cr she'd need to finish it out. She said she MIGHT want to actually do the World History as an extra in her Sr. Year. I'm sure she'll change her mind, though!!! She also has designs on graduating early!
