This is my girls toughest subject. I ran across the Surely english program and it sounds great but the website doesn't have sample pages. Has anyone heard of/used this? (and it's out of my homestate...Arkansas..it has to be wonderful )
I have level 1 if you would like me to scan some samples for you. I dont know if it is good or not because I have yet to use it. It was one of those things I bought and then never used.
I have heard good things about it, but it did not sound like something we were interested in. A friend has used it with all of her (6) children. She did mention that you would want to start at least one if not 2 years "behind" because it is pretty difficult.

Shirley English is rote memory stuff. Kids that go through it can spit out the formulas, but not neccessarily apply them as well (that's what I've heard, anyway). It's a lot of sing-songy stuff. I thought it was kind of cool at first, when I did it with my boys long ago, but it got repetitive, and they tired of it soon enough. Some people love it, but I go with R&S for Grammar!
awesome. Thanks ladies. I went to the website today and started "singing" in a rhythem i had no clue what i was doing to the words posted and my daughter looked at me like i was from mars. Yeah, I think she's like it at first, but get tired of it quickly. I think I would get tired of it quickly. Thanks for the insight girlies
