Ok, I'm sure that you all have seen the adds for "take this survey and earn $$$" i was wondering if any of you have found if this is a scam or if this is real?
    Thanks

I have looked into this myself. From the ones I looked into it was a LOT of work for very little money and you have to sign up for a ton of things to get credit for your survey or to move on. I found it frustrating and a HUGE waste of time. If someone does know of a successful site, I would love to hear about it. I do think poeple get paid...but it takes way too much time signing up for "free" offers and filling out your info for people to contact you with what they are selling.

That's what I am running into. It just seems to go on and on and on. We need the money, but being a stay at home mom, there's not much I can do to help, even though I want to, ya know?

Well, I do MyPoints.com. You don't get "paid" for taking survery's but you earn points and cash them in for gift cards. All you have to do is take survey's and click on their sponser's links.

I take surveys for points or money. A company (a local and/or state wide research company) sends me an e-mail every once in a while (maybe every 2 months or so) with a link to a survey. It usually takes me anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes to complete. When I'm finished it says I have a certain number of points added to my account. With many of these points I can get stuff like coolers, radios, watches and such.

About three times a year I get a survey saying I could earn cash in a focus group after I complete the survey. Most of the time I'm not selected based on my answers. I have done three focus groups for cash in the past and I thought those were awesome! In fact next week I'm spending 1.5 hours in a focus group to get $60 in cash! :) Usually the company gives out refreshments during the group session too. The only thing that is a little strange is that there are people watching our group behind a two way mirror (observation mirror) and there are cameras recording our session.

Oh ya...the surveys are usually about paper towels, toilet paper, soaps, tools, gadgets, home improvement or grocery foods.

For you Wisconsinites (JenPooh?) here is the link....

I do them a lot and get paid......... they do take time. you get so many points per survey then after you get so many points accumulated then you get $10 or so.

I LOVE my points, survey spot, opinions outpost

I do pinecone research, and get paid $3 for each survey they send me. I get an email answer a few questions then they send the money to my paypal account. It is by no means a way to make money to live off of. I do about 3 a month or so then I won't get any for a few months. I just keep the money in paypal and use it to buy something fun.

You have to find one of their banner on the web and click it to sign up. The amount they pay you varies on how much the banner is saying. Sometimes it is like .50 per survey all the way to $5 per survey. Once you sign up you don't have to sign up again, and you will just be paid what the orginal banner was at.

If you really want to help with the family funds, check out daveramsey.com. That will help you better control your income and out go. Dave Ramsey is my hero :)

    Here are a few links
http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=0&t=558518 Directions on how to find pinecone banners, and how to sign up

http://forums.slickdeals.net/forumdisplay.php?sduid=0&f=39 in general about all the surveys and free trials. ( I love the slickdeals website)

Central Ohio is actually a "test market". There's a company here called Delve Research. If you get on their list, they will call you every now and then and have you come in for a "Focus Group". Usually, this group pays about $65, and takes about an hour or so. I've done a focus group on batteries, children's meds, sausage, feminine products....just about any and every thing!!! My favorite was when they came to my house, watched me run my sweeper, talked with me for an hour about why I did it like I did, etc. and handed me a $100 bill on their way out the door. Oh, and once when Faythe was an infant, they sent me a LARGE case of Pampers. I had to use them for a few days and then fill out a survey. I think I got paid in addition to the free Pampers!

We have a similar company like that around here too. Troy is on their list but with our work schedules he has yet to go to a focus group. The last one he missed was about pizza I think, or beer...he almost cried.

Dave Ramsey is my hero too (after my hubby of course) but with homeschooling, I can't leave the kids to get a "real" (don't throw any veggies, please) job. I know you won't make a lot but it's worth it even if you get 1.00 out of it.
Thanks everyone for the input. I will check out the sites you all posted too, to maybe make a bit more!
