do any of you have a back yard pool, the boys are BEGGING for a $100 blue one from wm. I am looking and asking questions, so suggestions & comments please?
We bought a quick set pool this year for the boys (back in May) and it was so worth the money we spent on it - we've had some absolutely disgusting days (HOT and HUMID) and it has paid for itself a million times over. If you buy the pool, make sure you buy lots of filters - they suggest one is good for two weeks, but we haven't had that luck yet (we usually replace it every week) and make sure you get chlorine tablets and algecide (?sp) as well - the pool can get really slimy if you don't (we had to empty ours shortly after putting it up for this reason - because we didn't treat the water first) Wal-Mart sells a test kit - it will tell you what you need to add... Most of the pools come with a cover - when you're not using the pool, put it on - it's supposed to slow the growth of algae... If you have more questions, ask away, I'll try to answer or someone else might be able to answer too. Brenda
My parents have an actual above ground pool. It's not one of those temporary things, it's more permenant, but they have had it since I was about 10 years old. Now my son goes in it all the time. I think theirs is about 20 feet around. Even those are well worth the money. They are way more expensive, but still worth it!
Very fond memoires, a swimming pool. Yes, get a pool. We had a pool ever since I could remember and love swimming. Flippers, mask and snorkal a must!
The kids put their birthday money together and bought one this year from WM. It is 3 1/2 x 14'. Our instruction book says how to clean the filter yourself...we've had ours for at least 6 weeks and just changed our filter last week. Test it daily and adjust it accordingly....if you get one of comparible size, let me know. I can give you some help with regulating the chlorine/ph/algae and such.
