Does anyone use it? If so, how old are your kids? I'm thinking about using it for my first grader, but I've heard kind of mixed reviews as to whether it's a good choice for younger students who don't have older siblings. My first grader is my oldest, followed by a kindergartner, a preschooler, and a baby. This year we are using Five in a Row (which is based on childrens' picture books) and we are really enjoying that. I would eventually like to switch to something history based. I guess the three choices I'm looking at are another year of FIAR (there are three volumes), Sonlight, or Tapestry of Grace. The more we look at TOG the more we like it, so I guess the question is whether we should go with it starting next year, or hold off until the kids are older.
I really liked the looks of TOG online when my girls were your kids' ages, too, but when I got a chance to really look at the books it looked really overwhelming to start with. I ended up using My Father's World instead (www.mfwbooks.com). They do the same history loop as TOG, but I find them to be very user friendly (in other words, not quite so much Mommy-prep time!) We may go back to TOG when the girls are older.
Thanks for the reply....I am going to check out their site too. So many choices! I can't believe all the time I am spending thinking about next year when we are only on week four of this year. I can't help it - I am a planner by nature.
