    Did that get anybody's attention?

Ijust finished reading those 9 pages of posts regarding betrothal.

My 15 yr old daughter is a member of a cool forum at a website she likes.. . www.idontdate.org .
She found it herself, not me. My kids don't plan to date, but they do plan to have fun, be silly, and be serious, and serve the Lord.
Just want to let you know that any girl I know would love to know that any guy interested in her was brave enough to ask daddy's permission to seek her hand in service/friendship...and later maybe marriage.

My family doesn't have a name for what we plan to do, but it falls between courtship and betrothal because we well understand that God could bring someone into our lives that knows nothing about the "rigid" sense of
betrothal as some see it, but still have a heart to honor and obey authority.

And yes, we wonder where on earth our girls will meet a godly man. But God moves mountains and turns the hearts of kings. He will provide.

Just wanting some to know that there are girls who would love to know that guy has full parental approval before he even looked her in the eye and smiled in that special way.

It's about keeping our hearts pure for the Lord rather than the passions of youth.

    Blessings to all,
    Carrie

Very well said, Carrie! I remember when I was in my mid 20's and single. I came home from college with a Christian friend from Zambia. Mom was going on about how if I would wear my hair differently, or dress differently, or WHATEVER, more guys would be "interested" in me. She was REALLY being a pain about it! I told her that I was happy doing what I was doing, and I wasn't going out looking, so to speak. Let him come to me!!! She said that I'd be too busy doing all the things I was involved in to notice him if he DID come by! Mutale looked Mom straight in the eye, and in her very quiet voice asked, "But if he were the guy God had planned for her, don't you think He would CAUSE her to notice?" That shut Mom up so quick!!!

I do believe that single women (and men, too!) need to just be content with doing whatever it is God has for them to do single. Doing that faithfully is one of the things that WILL cause a Godly mate to notice!
