OhioGM, when mine were especially little, they thought I did too. Then they realised it was just the rearview mirror in the car.
I actually had Jane believing the "eyes" story for quite awhile! You learn certain sounds or movements that alert you to things!
My daughter said she couldn't wait to be a grandmother; as grandmas have more "gifts" than even mothers! Must be all those years of practice.
Many years ago a guest speaker came to our church and he talked about the power a mom has over her child. As a child he would not want to do his homework but his mom told him, "You better make sure you complete your homework and be sure to do it correct. So double check it when you are done. Leave it on the table because I am going to check it too." He said that his mom was a very old fashion, strict lady who could give a whopper of a punishment. So he was sure to do his best because he didn't like her punishments in the least. He shared that he loved his late mom for doing this. He did very well in school and it wasn't until she was elderly that he finally learned that she couldn't read or do math and all those years he was positive she was checking his work.   I thought that was a cute story.
