Have you read it? Have you used it for your kids? What did you think? What did your kids think? I want to say I read some reviews that it was horribly racist (we have some Native American blood flowing in our home... but we have thick skin and don't mind knowing what white man though of our ancestors... or is there other things I should be aware of ahead of time?) Is it fairly secular?

I have been prowling around at ambleside and decided to go to amazon and download this for 99c onto my tablet so I can read it and maybe read it with the kids. It seems more advanced than CHOW from first glance. Am I right?

It was a smidgeon more advanced for our 5 year old, so I'm waiting for a month or two to show him again.

You know, I never got to any recist parts, and IMHO you really have to TRY to be rascist for me to acknowledge it. There is Native American in DH's family, and I am half Italian, with a quarter German.

Research, research, research, and then research some more. Really KNOW what happened to the best of your knowledge, so when discrepencies come up, you can correct it for your children.

I like the book, but can't use it yet. :/ I think for 99c it's definately worth it.

While looking for information I came across someone reccomending Mara Pratt's American History Stories. May have to look that one up too.

I really want to read or listen to all these history books for myself. I love history, but it is so obvious to me now that I missed a lot in school. I moved a lot and it seems I must have learned the same things over and over because there is so much history I have never heard a bit of! I would love to move them on along to the kids eventually. We are going to start working on CHOW again for now.

The librivox.org version is fun to listen to - Alexis liked that - but she liked "Our Island Story" better which is the one before it.

Isn't Our Island Story about England? LOL... I have never looked at it so I don't know.

I just tried to have Reagan listen to A Little History of the World today and he said he would much rather I read to him... ugggg lol
