We are working in the Masterpiece of the Month book. Today we learned about Jackson Pollock. Well, the kids painted on canvas outside with his drip method. That was fun. Then I went in search of a worksheet or something to culminate our art activities. I found this

You need to scroll down to the bottom of the page looking for Jackson Pollock and click on the link.

You can make your own Pollock masterpiece online and print it out. So, the kids did this too.

A cute art idea I just read about. draw a vine with yarn, make jack-a-lantern faces on orange balloons, attach to the vines, draw around hands and cut out for the leaves.

Art Sun prints. Lay objects on a dark piece of paper and lay in the direct sunlight. The sun will fad the paper.

Use a outline of an eagle with its wings spread open. And do George Washington quarter rubbings. Over lap the quarters. Make the quarters red and blue. Use colors.

    Paper Sculpture...... http://www.elbalero.gob.mx/kids/bio/html/zoo_papel/buho.html

www.talentedkidzone.com/crafts/flakehowto.html There are several unique art ideas at this site.

A very good site for all ages is http://www.kinderart.com/sitemap.shtml

Make a plain branch tree. Students thumb print on leaves.

    Make snowmen with cotton balls.

Draw three different leaf patterns. Let students draw around the different leaves using different colored paper and make a collage.

Take a piece of black paper and make an outline of a pumpkin or other shape. Take a push pin and go around the outline. Leave a space between holes. Hand up to the window and let the light shine through. It works best to have some carpet squares to lay the paper on while punching the holes.
