Wow, what an opportunity, for you and your daughter. I'm sure you will make a great teacher, just look at your other children. What a great job you have done with them.

Heart of Dakota is the publisher of a series of books by Carrie Austin. They are Bible unit studies, essentially.

We have the first book, Little Hands to Heaven. It covers the ABCs for recognition, music and fingerplays daily, and topics such as science (exploration), math, art, dramatic play, and even devotions weekly. It is written with a subtitle that it is a Preschool curriculum for ages 2-5, and it is similar to the Hubbard's Cupboard page I link all the time. If you're considering HOD at this level, I highly recommend looking at the free Hubbard's Cupboard first. ;)

The level that I've decided would be more appropriate for us is the next level up, titled Little Hearts for His Glory. This encourages phonics study with your own program daily, and other daily activities include math, history reading, literature storytime, fine motor skills (handwriting), music, and rhyme. Weekly activities include dramatic play, games, art, and science discovery twice each week. This level is written for ages 5-7.

There are more levels as well. I really like the looks of it; it's like it takes Hubbard's Cupboard and carries it to the next level. Just realize that the first level is JUST LIKE the free Hubbard's Cupboard. LOL (Actually, Hubbard's Cupboard is a little more thorough IMnsHO.)

Thanks Dalynn! I'll look into that free stuff. Hubby would prefer I not spend anymore money right now considering that we've already decided that all of one program and half of another wasn't going to work for us and we had already bought it.

Thanks so much for the help everyone!

I haven't talked with the mom since then, so hopefully this can all work out! I'll let you know the details. Meanwhile, I'm keeping tabs on this message so I can return to it when I need to!

KRIS!!! Hey Hon, thanks for the offer of the switch, but, um, let's see, um, OH! The girl's parents wouldn't want her out of state, so I guess we can't trade! Yeah, that's it! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! ;)

OH, OH!!! I got CLP's "Phonic Readers, books 1-4"! They're small, easy, and I'm willing to send them to you if you think you can use them! I put them in two sales last year and they didn't go. Do you want them?

The stuff we were having trouble with was our history which we bought homeschool huskies and half of the handwriting wasn't going to work which was Peterson directed handwriting. So hubby really doesn't want me to spend anymore money right now unless we are sure it will work...

Boy Kris, if you COULD come, we really WOULD have a lot of fun! :D That'd be cool!

Jackie, I still haven't talked with her again. If I do watch this girl, I'd be happy to get those if you want to get rid of them! :) Thanks!

Kris, Is your MIL still giving your girls a hard time? My mother seems to be more hateful since hot weather started. I know she feels bad, but she is so grouchy to everyone that nobody wants to be around her. That is so sad to me, but she won't even try to be nice! Today she wouldn't even let Crystal finish her sentence when she asked where I was. Crystal tried to say at the grocery store, but Mama hung up before she got it out. She does junk like that all the time. It gets so old!
