It's the small things While watching the newest Pirates' of the Carribean movie, ds turned to me and said, "Didn't we learn about Ponce de Leon in school?" Why yes, yes we did! I hadn't even thought he was listening! And that was last spring, so he retained it! I love the fact that he was able to connect school learning with real-world stuff (weird to measure here since my kids don't do rabbit trails and school is strictly school...) And this week, despite distractions, dd learned to write her name in cursive! She also drew a picture for her grandfather and signed her name in cursive on it. There! I've taught them something for the year!
