 We went for instant gratification and bought some strawberry plants. Does that count?

The kids loved it...I bought 3 for each of them to plant and a new rosebush for me! We also planted some bulbs, but they have been in the fridge for the past two winters so I'm not sure they will take now.

It sounds really cool to do some veggies, tho!

You bet it counts!!!!! You are still gardening!:D

Hopefully your bulbs do alright. I planted some bulbs that have had in my fridge for two years. I think I planted them two weeks ago. I dug one up today to see if they were alive and they are actually growing. They haven't popped through the soil yet but they look good.

IT'S GROWING!!! we have a things poking up through the soil. WOO HOO!! Today we bought some more peppers and tomatoe seeds and started them in the house. I can see how this can be addictive. I just hope that the weather don't come up and ruin it.

We have planted so far, onions, tomotoes and strawberrys. I got the seeds and seed planter boxes for starting seeds but we are not technically out of the freeze time yet soooooo

I just need to buy more soil.

Here's a great (free) place to ask questions about veggies: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/b_veggies/all/

We don't have enough sun to plant a veggie garden right now, unfortunately. We have a big ol' hackberry tree in the backyard, though, that is probably on its last legs.. uhh last limbs? Anyway, maybe when it comes down we'll have a little patch of sun where we can do something. (We also have 2 pecans and 2 magnolias in the back yard, so it won't be much of a patch.)

thanks for the websites. We started more seeds in the house. I think we went a bit overboard. Actually I'm positive we did. We have a total of 50 tomato plants that we planted last week. 2 differant varieties. One is just barely poking through the other is about 3 inches tall already. according to the seed packet they shouldn't be that tall yet. looks like we will be sharing some of our plants. I don't want to plant that many in my yard. I don't think we have enough room. I think that even if the plants never produce fruit. I would still do this again. It's been fun. We look at them everyday and are amazed at how they are growing. The garden outside is doing well too. EVERYTHING is coming up. I can't wait to eat the veggies. And I hope I have plenty to share with my friends and neighbors. I think that's half the fun.
