Has anyone here had an experience with Trail Guide to Learning? It looks really interesting to me and most of the reviews I am finding are very positive, but I am trying to gather as much information as I can so would love feedback.

I'm sorry I don't have experience with the Trailguide to Learning, but we are finishing up a year doing Cantoring The Country which is put out by Geography Matters - the makers of Trailguide to Learning. And for next year I'm planning on using their Trailguide to World Geography. I've been pleased with the aproach and the more I look into GeoMatters, the more I love it. This year with Cantoring the Country has been our best so far... just enough structure that I'm not reinventing the wheel, but freedom to choose which books and activities fit within our daily life. My girls have loved notebooking, which seems to be a nice option given within these curriculums (though I think you could do as much or as little notebooking as your student likes).

The Trailguide to World Geography will provide the same type of thing, with suggesting books, mapping activities, & cultural activities. It seems the trailguide to Learning follows the same vein. And what's more, they plan on developing jr. & sr. high curriculum. I'm looking forward to seeing more from them.

All this to say, I've really appreciated what GeoMatters has offered in their curriculum style.

I have a friend who used it and loved it. Then went on to the next book this year. I was tempted to try it but I am afraid it might be difficult with six kids on different levels. She did last year with one and this year with two. They have had us over for the presentations they give after each section - I have always been very impressed. There are sample pages on Geography Matters website - you might want to try it out that way.

Thanks, ladies! I think we are going to do this next year. My boys will be 3rd and 6th, but both read at about the same level so I think it will be fun to work on things together.
