I have been seriously looking into this for high school and it would be so helpful to find anyone who has used it. Thanks guys (I mean ladies )
It is sort of like TOG --you can incorporate several subjects from history: art, architecture, music, logic.. and some others. Those would be for 1/2 credits and they also use IEW for a full credit.
OK... There are 5 levels: Discovering the Ancient World Expansion of Civilization Rise of Nations Age of Revolution Final book to be announced This program can be as light or meaty as you wish. It is research-based so you will need resources for them; ie the library. If you are planning on using this through HS then I would not skip any books and prob start in the 7/8th grade. As each book will last for a full 1 year. It is also pretty pricey at $195.00. There are extras you can choose not to purchase and use the library for; books, magazines, videos, etc (kinda reminded me of MOH or SOTW, where 'if you wish' you can go into further depth of study)

Electives -Biblical History (1/2 credit) -Multi-cultural studies (1/4 credit) -Anthropology (1/4 credit) -Combined the following form 1 credit in Humanities: *Art History *Music History *Historical Architecture -Economics (1/4 credit) -Advanced Critical Thinking I (1/2 credit) -Research Writing (1/2 credit) -Intro. to Philosophy ½ credit -Intro. to Rhetoric ½ credit -Writing Structure & Style (if IEW is included with Literature assignments) ¼ credit -Special Interest (student selected topic) ½ credit or more depending on the student.
Sorry I don't have experience with it and got confused! If you have those choices, then it doesn't seem too expensive to me! Looks like some decent possibilities.
That is what I am hoping. We'll see. I have a year to work it all out--but that year is coming up too fast!!
