Trying to remember the name of a book.

It was a box series, either 3 or 4 books. About a young girl around the 1900s. I remember a few things... Like her wearing a hoop skirt to church and sitting down and the hoop flying over her head... And her trying to make skin cream with honey and something and it sticking to her face. Sound familiar to any one?

 

Yes, it actually does sound familiar! I can see images in my head, but can't think of any names. Is that the one where she melts wax with the honey to get rid of her freckles?

its not anne of green gables, is it Betsy? or pippit longstockings, or theres another one I forget her name

 

It totally does NOT sound familar AT ALL, but if you can figure it out, I'd love to read it!
